Over 65s

As we get older, it’s really important to keep exercising to help with mobility, bone and muscle strength, flexibility and balance. I have a mixed group affectionately known as ‘The Golden Oldies’ who are all aged between 65 and 85.  The classes can be adapted to each person to take into account any aches and pains or operations such as knee and hip replacements.  Exercises can be done whilst sitting on a chair if required or adjusted to allow for any limitations. Once per half term, we have a coffee and cake after the class for a catch up.  I think the social is as important as the classes! J

The class is currently 9.30am on Wednesdays & standing / chair based Pilates is 11:00am on Wednesdays.

The ‘Over 65’s’ class benefits from safely planned sessions to fit in with our individual needs and abilities. No-one is left out and we have a lot of laughter whilst getting fitter.

At 80 years of age, I would strongly recommend Pilates to men & women of all ages. Rachel is so good at adjusting the movements according to our limitations whilst aiming to keep us as mobile as possible. We are a small class who also have much laughter as we exercise. We also enjoy regular coffee & cake together in Rachel’s kitchen! 🙂

As a 70 plus male with back problems, I wondered if joining a Pilates class would work for me. I needn’t have worried, Rachel’s class really fits the bill. Just an hour a week loosens the joints in all the right places, and Rachel discreetly guides and encourages throughout, and suggests an alternative exercise replacing those which could be painful !
Very enjoyable and doing me good, I am very happy to recommend.
